  3. It sounds like he is talking about the founding of America and how Europeans took advantage of The Native Americans. It goes through history and all of the tough times America went through.

  4. Dylan uses creativity by talking about different time periods in US history. Another way he uses creativity is that starting eith the 2nd line, evry other line rhymes. Dylan's backgrond gives his songs an edgy feel, he wrote songs during the 60's and 70's which was a very controversial time. Everyone followed his music very closely.

  5. I really enjoy his use of random ideas and aspects of American history within the song. Dylan has a strange yet inspiring mind that is simply brilliant. He has a flawless rhyme scheme, and his song has a great ring to it.

  8. It is unique in that the speaker seems to be from a more recent time, but he is around people from a time period long ago and because he connects many made up scenes and experiences with real historical facts. All while rhyming :)

  11. I enjoyed reading this song because it reflects the history of America, especially the Mayflower and the journeys of Columbus. This shows Bob Dylan's creativity when it comes to tying his own person thoughts into the past of our country.

  13. It is an inspiring song and teaches us to work hard for what we want just like the pilgrims did when they got off the Mayflower and started building up the town. In the same way we should work hard for what we want in life.

  16. Bob Dylan has always been a songwriter to look out for. You never know what he has up his sleeve. I like this change of pace from ordinary songs in our culture all while including some facts from history that he makes entertaining.
